1 · What is connected
| Connection | Where in HubSpot | What it gives us |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn ad account 510957439 | Marketing, Ads, Connected accounts | Spend, impressions and clicks per ad set; list sync to matched audiences; the "contact tracking" check on each ad's landing URL |
| Google Ads 506-359-2052 | Same | Spend and clicks per campaign; the option to push HubSpot lists as Google audiences; the remarketing pixel install |
| Google remarketing tag | Settings, Marketing, Ads, Pixels | Injected into the HubSpot tracking code, so it fires on every hue.life page without a WordPress change |
| LinkedIn Insight Tag | Installed on hue.life (partner 9991860) | Website audiences and the RSVP conversion on LinkedIn's side |
| YouTube channel @huelife_mn | Marketing, Social, Connected accounts | Publishing and stats for the channel. Not needed for ads, but already there |
2 · What HubSpot can and cannot create
Know this before opening the Ads tool expecting to build something.
| Can create from HubSpot | Must be built on the platform |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn Sponsored Content (single image, video from an existing post), LinkedIn and Facebook lead ads, Google Search ads | YouTube video campaigns, LinkedIn campaign groups and budgets, placements, device targeting, anything with a bid strategy |
In practice we build every campaign on the platform and use HubSpot for audiences and reporting.
3 · UTMs: how a click gets back to the class
Every paid link carries three parameters. The campaign value is the cohort code, so a report in HubSpot, LinkedIn or Google all line up with the class record.
utm_source=linkedin utm_medium=paid utm_campaign=2026_HLR-503_Boston utm_source=youtube utm_medium=video utm_campaign=2026_HLR-503_Boston
LinkedIn adds its own tracking parameters (hsa_acc, hsa_cam, hsa_grp, hsa_ad) when HubSpot manages the URL. Leave them. Google Ads uses auto-tagging, which HubSpot reads directly.
A contact who arrives through one of these links gets the source recorded on their record under Original source and the drill-downs, and the class's HubSpot marketing campaign (for Boston, 2026_RETREAT_EVENT_Boston) picks up the traffic when the ad is associated to it.
4 · Conversions
| Platform | Conversion | How it fires |
|---|---|---|
2026_HLR-503_Boston_RSVP | The RSVP form on the HubSpot page redirects to a thank-you page; the Insight Tag records that page load | |
| Google Ads | Not yet defined | Same pattern is available: a thank-you page load, or an imported HubSpot event. This is the gate before search ads |
The thank-you-page pattern needs no code and works on any HubSpot form. The one rule: never test-submit a live registration form to check it. A submission creates a contact and triggers the follow-up sequence. Test on a form that has no automation attached.
5 · Where to read results
- HubSpot, Marketing, Ads. Both accounts side by side, with spend, clicks and the contacts that came through. Set the status filter to include paused, or paused ad sets vanish from the view.
- HubSpot, Marketing, Campaigns. The class's marketing campaign shows ads, emails and forms together once the ad is attached to it. Keep unrelated emails off the campaign; the weekly class digest was found attached to the Boston campaign and removed.
- The platform itself for anything HubSpot does not show: placement performance, video quartiles, device and audience breakdowns.
6 · Consent and limits to know
- Both tags respect the cookie banner. A visitor who declines is invisible to remarketing on both platforms. Expect audiences to be smaller than traffic.
- Marketing contacts: the portal is on Marketing and Sales Pro with a cap near 12,000 marketing contacts against about 11,300 in use. Ads that create contacts count against it.
- List sync to LinkedIn happens from HubSpot's side and refreshes on a schedule; a new list needs a day or two to match.
